I don't think they allow third party candidates in Georgia.

I don't think most Georgians can count past republican.
Unless they live inside of Atlanta, then they can't count past Democrat.

I seriously can't remember the last time I saw a third party candidate on a ballot here.

First off if your legal to vote and dont you suck.

Second, I said Democrat but its gonna be a fucking bloodbath.

Republicans will take over i think, health care plan wont be repealed it just wont be funded, obama will become a lame duck prez and its over.

If we get palin in 2012 well then the country is fucked anyways so whatever. Im stockpiling food guns and ammo. Seriously.

We won't get Palin in 2012. Trust me. But it will not be Obama in 2012 that's for sure. Unless he does some serious back flips in the next two years.

I just hope the wave of Republicans that do come in this year will actually hold true to the convictions of the people electing them, i.e. smaller government, less spending, get out of our lives and let us parent our children and make our own damn decisions for better or worse.

If they do, then Obama might actually have a chance of winning in 2012. The offset of a Democrat Prez and a Republican Congress actually works pretty well all things considered, (see Clinton 1994-2000). Or the opposite, (see Reagan 1981-1988). Democrat revere Clinton's years as a shining example, but he had a Rep Congress for most of his office. The same for Reagan, Republicans revere him, but he had a Dem Congress for his entire office.

Right now the pendulum of power is swinging way to far in each power exchange.

Gridlock in Washington keeps them from doing too much funky stuff and makes them work for the center.

I still fail to believe that any political party will ever reduce the reach of govt. They are all about extending their hold. They have too many ties to business and special interest groups to ever really release any power that they already have. Any reduction of restrictions on business will be mostly favorable to certain groups that have been influential in putting the politicians where they are.

The only hope of getting any real reduction of govt is to get some strong Independents in office. Thats about as likely as your High School JV football team winning the Super Bowl though.

You got caught in the trap
The only way to really vote for "I don't vote" is by not voting.

The problem with getting a third party/independent in office is that it won't take long before he is just as corrupted as the two parties. And I would contend that a third party would get corrupted from both sides trying to sway him for or against each bill. At least with the two party, you usually are only getting corrupted by your own side.

When are people going to realize that the Republicans are not the party of smaller government, they are just the party of tax cuts? It is naive to believe that despite the fact that they don't have to make the government smaller in order to get elected that they would actually take the politically risky act of reducing the size of the government. Why on earth would they take that risk when all they have to do is say they are the party of smaller government and people will vote for them?

While a third party might get corrupted as well, we would be far better served if we had another choice. The two party system just is not working well.

I really hope that voters will research all of the people running in their elections and really consider voting for who represents their positions best and not just vote "democrat" or "republican."

Although, I think it is naive of me to believe that that will ever happen.

Im pretty happy with obama. I would like to see him in for another 4 years.

The more research I do, the more I feel that Democrats make the USA a stronger country.

I always remember you as being kinda liberal since we started the politicking section. :?

There were a couple of times that me and you were on the same side, but not many... Oh how I remember the heated arguments we had... I wonder how many "Go fuck yourself!" or "Eat shit and die!" comments were deleted before the submit button was pressed.
